How do I book for shuttles?

Do you have any spots left?
YES you can get a shuttle seat. We run either 2 groups of 4, sometimes 3 groups of 4 simultaneously in 3 hour sessions. At trails such as Ironbark Samford and Wooroi Tewantin we are able to get up and down the main road in about half to one third of the time it takes for riders to descend from top to bottom and arrive at the pick up point.
Ironbark & Wooroi Sessions
7am - 10am Sat & Sun : up to 14 seats available
AVAIL ANY DAY / ANY TIME with sufficient bookings
At Clear Mountain, the runs are a lot steeper and faster, we run 1 or 2 groups depending on rider ability.
Clear Mountain Sessions
7am - 10am : up to 14 seats available
AVAIL ANY DAY / ANY TIME with sufficient bookings
Please note, during summer, for those wishing to beat the heat, we can start from 5am.
What Days Are You Running Shuttles?
Available 7 days. Just like an UBER. As soon as we get a booking, be that for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 riders, we then post on social media to let everyone know were we are going to be to see who can join in and make up the numbers. Generally so long as we have at least a collective booking of 6 booked in on the $45 package we are good to go. Currently we operate with an 8 Seater Van using a 6 Bike Vertical SingleBack Rack, so the ideal is to ride-share / carpool with 6 riders & 6 bikes at a time. We are always flexible and will do our best to accomodate your booking. Large groups are also catered for, we can run an additional vehicle to suit.

It is quite the workout. You will be running through practice drills from start to finish. Customised sessions of longer duration can be tailored to suit your requirments. For example, we can incorprate some shuttles with your session to coach along your fav trails to maxmize opportunitoes to correct tecnique.
Is it only 1 on 1 or can I bring another?
PLEASE NOTE : Whilst mostly, my focus is on coaching 1 on 1 to deliver the utmost in a session. Where suitable, I do coach pairs or trios when the riders are of a similar ability. When coaching 2 or 3 or 4 riders within the same session, the session time is extended accordingly. Each participant receives dedicated 1 on 1 tuition and guidance throughout the session.
Currently 4 is the maximum number for a coaching session on sanctioned trails. Within the more open areas of skills parks like Ashgrove, Brisbane, Tallebudgera, Gold Coast or Stenner Street, Toowoomba, we have greater flexibility thus we can accomodate up to two groupings of 4 riders within any given session. Mike, how long have you been riding?
I started out riding BMX at the age of 11 in 1977. During my professional BMX career through the 80s and 90s I collected numerous state and Australian titles. A highlight was becoming the very first Australian Professional Rider to win a sanctioned title in NSW in 1984. I was the first rider to race with the coveted #1 on the designated Pro black background plate.
In 1997 I picked up the elusive National #1 Title in my Masters age group 30-35 having fallen ever so short in the finals the year prior, competing in both Pro and Masters with a severe case of food poisoning. That event I trained intensly and was capable of 'the double' won the mid-week pre-meet in Pro against the best, only to come down with extreme food poisoning from the local RSL the night before the heats... After 8 hours of vomitting, I had to rip the drip out of my arm and sneak out of the hospital, jump in a cab to make the first race on time. Won all my age races, got all 1st and 2nds in Pro, then my body shut down before the finals and i had nothing left... wasn't to be.
That sort of dertermination that I had thoughout my BMX career carried over into my work ethic in all aspects of my day to day life.
During the 90s I was an AIS Level 1 BMX Coach and held the position of State Coaching Director in the Northern Territory.
Having taken up MTB at its inception, I've ridden Mount Cootha on a hard tail with rigid forks and lived to tell the tale... The journey from those formative years has allowed me to ride trails and terrain in Australia, East Africa and South Africa.
Gravity Shuttles is a business born from my passion of Old School BMX infused MTBing. Enabling riders to sample the stoke with multiple runs, it's a great buzz. The vibe when shuttling is like being in the chairlift on a snowboard holiday. Everyone is high on stoke and the cares of the world are left behind. Likewise, when I'm coaching, helping riders accelerate their learning curve, improving their skills set, it is something I very much enjoy 🙂
Mike's Bikes
For Pump Track, I've built up a Specialized P4. Its a 27.5 Boost Dirt Jumper with the luxury of a dropper post for those long rides back to the car park 🙂 The P4 is nimble yet the reach etc is relatable to my mountain bikes. This was a bit of a weight weenie project. Front and rear brakes, a dropper post and 110mm of travel running Fox 34 Forks with 165mm DEV5 Billet Cranks.
10.46 kgs - Maxxis DTRs 2.0 front and rear
10.78 kgs - Rekon Race 2.25 front and rear
My main go-to ride when I am either jumping or coaching in the skills park is my 2022 Santa Cruz 5010 Medium running 130mm rear / 140mm front. I have 2 sets of Nexties, one set with fast rolling Rekon Race 2.25 front and rear. My main set has the super grippy Disector 2.4 rear and Assegai 2.5 front running CuschCore. Its a very playful and plush bike. The same frame that Danny MacAskill rides.
14.39 kgs - Disector 2.4, Assegai 2.5 running CushCore Pro front & rear.
13.61 kgs - Rekon Race 2.25 with TPU Tubes front and rear.
At the end of 2023 I was fortunate to pick up an as-new 2019 Giant Trance Advanced 1 Large 27.5 . This is a do-it-all trail bike that matches the ferocity of my Levo, that absolutely loves to go fast and absorb everything in its wake... Running 147mm at the rear and 150mm up front, it is very playful in the skills park and makes both the ups and the down on the trails seem effortless... 14.25 kgs running 2.4 disector and 2.5 Assegai and CushCore Pro front and rear.
Which brings me to... rounding out my stable of rigs is my 2020 Full Fat Alloy Specialized Turbo Levo. Ignore the haters, eBikes really rip. It is great for jumping and with 157mm at the rear and 160mm up front, it handles pretty much anything I throw at it. For coaching, it allows me to tow a rider uphill via an e-rated bungee tow rope. This allows us to get a lot more downhill runs in per 90 min coaching session.
22.32 kgs with 500w Battery - Disector 2.4, Assegai 2.5 running CushCore Pro front & rear.
23.04 kgs with 700w Battery - Disector 2.4, Assegai 2.5 running CushCore Pro front & rear.
